The clan’s origins lie in Demona’s scheme to steal genetic material from the Manhattan Clan. Working with Thailog and Anton Sevarius, Demona arranged her own capture so robotic mosquitoes could harvest DNA from Hudson, Brooklyn, Lexington, and Broadway. When Thailog later freed her, Demona also released Fang, who had been imprisoned nearby.

The plot culminated in a confrontation at Coney Island, where Thailog revealed his clones to their genetic originals and ordered Demona to kill Angela, an order she refused. After Thailog exposed his creation of Delilah, a gargoyle–human hybrid clone, the Manhattan Clan escaped and defeated the clones. Though Thailog and Demona appeared to perish, both survived.

Unwilling to accept the clones into the Manhattan Clan, Talon brought them to the Labyrinth, where he taught them independence and self-determination. On Halloween 1996, Thailog attempted to reclaim control of the clones, but they ultimately chose their own path. Most returned to the Labyrinth, however, Brentwood followed Thailog and left the clan.

The Labyrinth Clan becomes one of the ten founding members of the Gargoyle Nation. By 2198, the clan has expanded significantly, with rumors that cloning still continues within the Labyrinth. That year, their leader and rookery are kidnapped during the Space-Spawn attack on Queen Florence Island.
