The Loch Ness Clan has existed since at least the late 10th century. During this era, Robbie and Prince Malcolm may have encountered the clan, and it likely maintained contact with neighboring groups such as the Wyvern and Scone Clans. While the London Clan has long been aware of its existence, it is unclear whether London knows the Loch Ness Clan survived into the modern age. Demona appears to have had no contact with them, believing all Scottish gargoyles were eradicated by the Hunters.

The clan dwells in partially submerged caverns beneath Loch Ness, dedicating itself to the protection of the remaining Loch Ness Monsters living beneath the loch’s surface.

In 1996, Anton Sevarius and the Xanatos Goon Squad operated at Loch Ness. After capturing Angela during the Avalon World Tour, Sevarius briefly suspected the presence of a local gargoyle clan, but abandoned the theory once he determined her relation to Goliath. Around the same time, a Nessie was captured; the clan knew the creature was missing but was unable to intervene visibly in the murky waters.

The Loch Ness Clan is a founding member of the Gargoyle Nation. In 2198, their leader and rookery are kidnapped by the Space-Spawn during the attack on Queen Florence Island.
