The Pukhan Clan is almost certainly ancient, though little of its early history is known. The clan inhabits caves and tunnels in the mountains near the Pukhan River. Unlike most gargoyle clans, their primary purpose is not the defense of a territory or object, but the pursuit of justice itself.

Justice for the Pukhan Clan is an absolute creed: “Justice is their religion, and poetic justice their one true art.” This philosophy defines their culture, behavior, and worldview.

Though not warriors by nature, individual members of the clan were involved in events surrounding the Korean War during the 1950s. The clan endures into the modern era and becomes a founding member of the Gargoyle Nation. In 2198, their leader and rookery are kidnapped during the Space-Spawn attack on Queen Florence Island.
