Cleopatra's Necklace

Capable of bending an individual's will.

The necklace was originally bestowed by the Egyptian goddess Hathor upon Cleopatra. Across the centuries, it passed through the hands of notable figures including Catherine the Great and Princess Aga Khan.

Following the destruction of the Grimorum Arcanorum, the return of the Eye of Odin to its creator, and the dissolution of the Phoenix Gate, the mystical power once contained within those Three Keys to Power was released and reshaped into three new Keys. One of these newly formed Keys manifested as Cleopatra’s necklace.

On November 18, 1997, Antoinette Dracon attended an auction in Geneva and purchased the necklace for $900,000. The next day, she delivered it to Demona at the gargoyle’s townhouse, completing the set of the three new Keys.

With all three Keys in her possession, Demona initiated her attempt to subjugate humanity throughout Manhattan. Before her enchantments could spread beyond the city, she was confronted by the Manhattan Clan at LaGuardia Airport. Goliath, Angela, and Turquesa succeeded in wresting the talismans from her control, immediately freeing the humans from her spell. Angela then destroyed the necklace, snapping it in half as its black pearls scattered across the tarmac.
