Alf
Gordon Shumway is a civilian survivor of the destroyed planet Melmac whose spacecraft malfunctions and crashes into the garage of the Tanner family on Earth. Taking the name ALF, short for Alien Life Form, he is sheltered by the Tanners and kept hidden from authorities who would capture or study him. While adapting to Earth customs and technology, ALF struggles with homesickness, guilt over the loss of his world, and the limits placed on his freedom. His sharp humor and impulsive behavior frequently cause domestic chaos, but over time he becomes an accepted, if secret, member of the family and finds a new sense of belonging among humans.
