Batman's alter ego, millionaire Bruce Wayne, is about to get married to the lovely Andrea Beaumont, who helps him recover from his need to avenge his parents' murder, meaning that his crime-fighting days may be numbered.

In the Gotham City of the future, an older Bruce Wayne trains a college student, Terry McGinnis, to replace him as Batman. Meanwhile, the Joker has re-emerged as the leader of the Jokerz, a gang inspired by their evil hero, who was previously thought to be dead.
