The death and life of Superman
A monstrous being called Doomsday rampaged across America, defeating the Justice League and leaving devastation in his wake. In Metropolis, Superman confronted the creature in a final, brutal battle to protect the city and its people. Both combatants struck fatal blows, and Superman collapsed in Lois Lane’s arms, sacrificing his life to save the world. In the weeks that followed, Earth mourned its greatest hero while several mysterious figures appeared claiming to carry on his legacy. Hope was eventually restored when it was revealed that Superman survived and returned to reclaim his place as Earth’s protector.
