The Ian & Mickey Story

Violent Gay

When Ian refused Mandy Milkovich's sexual advances, she gets revenge by telling her brother; Mickey that Ian imposed himself on her sexually, causing him to chase Ian with violent intentions for a few days. After evading Mickey, Ian comes out to Mandy, who not only calls off her brother, but suggests that she be his beard to deflect any questions about his sexuality.

Mickey stole a gun from Kash, Ian's secret lover. Ian confronts Mickey at his home. Mickey attacks him and after a bit of fighting, they end up having sex. They maintain their sexual relationship although Mickey denies any emotional attraction to Ian. Kash catches the two having sex in his store, then shoots Mickey in the leg and has him arrested for stealing a candy bar.

Franks Knows

When Mickey is released from jail he and Ian resume their relationship, and had sex in a baseball field. Mickey starts working security at Kash's store. Frank Gallagher, Ian's father, catches the boys having sex in the cooler and Mickey, fearing that his father would kill him should Frank tell what he saw, resolves to kill him. However, he is unable to do so and decides to assaults a police officer instead, violating his parole and returning him to jail.

Daddy Knows Best

When Mickey is released from prison again, Ian tries to figure out if Mickey has feelings for him. Mickey is unable to admit his true feelings but gets jealous when he sees Ian on a date with an old man and beats the man up. Later, Mickey kisses Ian for the first time before robbing a house.

With his family out of town, Mickey invites Ian to sleep over. In the morning, Mickey's dad, Terry Milkovich, walks in on the two having sex and beats them up. He calls a prostitute, Svetlana, who'll "fuck Mickey's gayness out of him" and forces Ian to watch. When she gets pregnant, Mickey is forced to marry her. Ian comes to Mickey before wedding, they have sex after Ian tries to get him not to go through with it but Mickey does anyway.

Ian gets drunks on the wedding because he loves Mickey and can't stand to see him get married to someone else. Afterward, Ian signs up to army.

Bipolar Disorder

Months later, When Mickey heard that Ian was in trouble; he started looking for him and found him, working as a dance at a gay strip club. He had lied on his army application, and while at the army, had tried to steal a helicopter and damaged it. Realizing that Ian was acting strange, Mickey told the Gallagher family who figured out that he was Bipolar.

They wanted Ian to go to a mental hospital but Mickey refused to allow it and decided to take can of Ian himself. Soon however, Ian proved to be too much for Mickey and he realized that he needed professional help. Ian did not want to go to the hospital and kidnapped Mickey s infant son, Yevgeny Milkovich. He was arrested and the baby was returned to Mickey. Ian voluntarily had himself committed for a 72 hours sec hold in a mental hospital.

The Breakup

Once Ian was released from the hospital, they boys started dating. Ian gets fed up with having to hide his relationship with Mickey, due to the fact that Mickey is still closeted. When he threatens to leave Mickey for good, Mickey comes out to his family. Terry flies into a rage, shouts gay swears, attacks him and is arrested.

Mickey and Ian go to the field where they had sex at a couple years ago. When Mickey tells him not to drink, because of his meds, he gets angry and punches Mickey across the face. He states he wanted the "shit talking, bitch slapping piece of southside trash he fell for". Mickey gets mad and pushes and punches Ian, which is what he wanted. They begin rolling on the floor fighting, and when they stop, they begin laughing. They both start to drink beer.

Wanting revenge on the Gallaghers, Sammi, Ian's half sister, tells the army police were he is and Ian is arrested. When the army learns about Ian s mental struggles, they drop all charges. Ian then breaks up with Mickey, not wanting to burden him with his disorder. Enraged at Sammi for betraying Ian, Mickey drugs her, planning on torturing her but thinks he accidentally killed her and locks her into a storage bin. Days later, she frees herself and tries to shoot Mickey. The two are arrested.

Moving on... Not.

Ian manages to stabilize his life, becomes an EMT and starts dating. His world is turned upside down when Mickey goes to great links to reunite with Ian after escaping prison and offered him the chance to come with him to Mexico. However, Ian gets cold feet at the last moment before Mickey crosses the border into Mexico. Before they part ways, Ian finally says "I love you," for the first time.

Over the next year, Ian starts fighting the Church and their views on the LGBTQ community. This turns him into a religious fanatic, and his followers give him the name of "Gay Jesus". When he sets a van on fire while trying to stop a parent from sending their son to conversion camp, he is arrested. Ian is sent to prison to serve a two-year sentence, where he is reunited with Mickey Milkovich, his cell mate.

Yellow is the New Black

Having been together for nearly a year and spending all their time together, both men are beginning to get on each other's nerves. Things aren't much better when Ian is given parole, but Mickey will remain in prison. Despite that, Mickey comes to terms with it, and he stops Ian from sabotaging his parole hearing.

Ian eventually gets paroled, with Mickey being paroled not long after, but they get a corrupt parole officer. After the parole officer's murder, Ian proposes on the basis that they can't be forced to testify against each other if they are married, but Ian's cold feet ends their relationship again.

Ian eventually admits to insecurities about how Mickey can love Ian with all of his issues when Mickey could potentially find someone better. After overhearing Mickey's new boyfriend Byron badmouthing all of the qualities about Mickey that he loves, Ian beats Byron up and proposes to Mickey on the spot, who accepts.

Happily Ever After

Ian and Mickey attempt to get married, only to have Terry burn down their wedding venue. Ian's friends and family come together to plan a new ceremony. Although Terry tries to prevent the wedding again, Ian's former Gay Jesus followers step in to keep Terry from succeeding. The boys are married and drive off to their honeymoon, Terry shoots up their honeymoon suite, though neither Ian nor Mickey are hurt.

Mickey and Ian adjust to married life whilst dodging the usual "Gallavich" antics living with both Gallaghers and Sandy Milkovich under the same roof. Mickey and Ian eventually move out of the house, but both struggle to fit in the new condo and navigate life on the "North side". With each Gallagher sibling finding their own path and selling the family house, Mickey and Ian move on with their life.
