In the year 994, a medieval castle in Scotland is attacked by Vikings, but find that it is protected by a species of gargoyles - stone statues that come to life.

Goliath and his mentor return to the castle and find their clan has been smashed during the day. They seek revenge only to be turned to stone "until the castle rises above the clouds."

Having been awakened in Manhattan in the year 1994 by industrialist David Xanatos, Goliath meets a friend in a police officer named Elisa Maza. He also learns from Xanatos of the diskettes stolen during an attack on the castle.

Goliath and Elisa are attacked in Central Park. Back at the castle, the rest of the clan takes names after New York landmarks. It is revealed that Goliath's spouse has also survived to the modern day.

The clan goes after the stolen diskettes, and afterwards are attacked by robotic Gargoyles. Goliath's mate, now calling herself Demona, reveals herself as a foe.

The young gargoyles meet their favorite TV characters, "The Pack," who are not what they seem, and Lexington ends up getting Goliath into a messy situation with them.

Brooklyn, out for a joy ride on a new custom-built motorcycle, gets into a bit of trouble, only to be saved by Demona. It seems that Brooklyn and Demona both want Goliath to see the "truth" about humanity.

Xanatos has a shipment of high-tech laser guns stolen. After an unfortunate accident with Elisa and her handgun, Broadway goes on a streak of vengeance against someone he sees selling the stolen guns.

A man named MacBeth shows up and seems to know a lot about the gargoyles. He is also searching for Demona. The clan is forced to find a new home in a clock-tower, when Xanatos is released from prison.

Elisa has a new partner, Matt Bluestone, a conspiracy buff. The gargoyles are blamed for stealing the "Eye of Odin" after Matt and Elisa see a gargoyle shaped figure stealing it. The Steel Clan is back, new and improved!

Hudson is plagued by memories from 984 AD, when Prince Malcolm was poisoned. In the present day, Goliath is shot and grievously injured, but Hudson won't leave him behind, even as they are both hunted by Demona.

Jackal and Hyena are up to no good again. Xanatos offers Elisa's brother, Derek Maza, a job as a helicopter pilot. Elisa attempts to find out what Xanatos is up to by visiting Fox in prison.

Demona and Xanatos mix Science and Sorcery together to resurrect Goliath's long-dead rookery brother Coldstone.

Dingo, along with a new partner code-named Coyote, releases the other members of the Pack from jail, and arranges a confrontation with the gargoyles.

Doctor Sevarius, the top geneticist in the world, is hired by Xanatos to try to create copies of the gargoyles. In the process, Sevarius creates the Mutates.

Coldstone is reactivated and Goliath wants to welcome him into the clan, but soon he begins to act strangely and becomes dangerous, while a computer virus threatens to kill him.

A set of scrolls believed to have belonged to Merlin the wizard are discovered, and stolen by Macbeth. Hudson makes a new friend in the blind novelist, Jeffrey Robbins, who teaches him about reading.

A magical mirror is stolen from a local museum and Demona uses it to summon the mischievous trickster, Puck. General havoc ensues.

Elisa and Broadway investigate the disappearance of Matt Bluestone, who is pursuing the Illuminati.

Xanatos proposes to Fox and gives her the Eye of Odin as an engagement present, with unexpected consequences. On Halloween, the gargoyles plan to go out on the town and celebrate, but a mysterious werewolf-like beast disrupts their plans.

It is the wedding day of Xanatos and Fox, and Goliath is asked to be best man. However, the wedding is only a minor goal in a greater plan by Xanatos to travel back in time to Castle Wyvern.

Demona plots to steal minutes of life from everyone in Manhattan for herself and Xanatos -- or so it seems. Demona reminisces about her past, and the Weird Sisters make their first appearance.

The Manhattan clan and Xanatos team up to stop Demona's treachery. Demona's past is revealed further, detailing the creation of the Hunters.

MacBeth's role in Demona's past is revealed, and the Weird Sisters offer assistance to Goliath and the clan.

The spell is broken when the night sky burns like the day. Demona and MacBeth are defeated.

Macbeth and Demona team up with one of Coldstone's three personalities to cause trouble for Goliath and his clan.

Concerned that Xanatos will sabotage a state-of-the-art flying fortress, Goliath vows to protect it, but is captured by the ship's owner, Cyberbiotics' CEO Halcyon Renard, and his assistant Preston Vogel.

After an encounter with MacBeth, Hudson does not wake up from his stone sleep. Meanwhile, Xanatos attempts to use a magic cauldron to make himself immortal.

Matt Bluestone continues to seek out the Illuminati, and finally learns about the existence of gargoyles.

After mysterious sightings and attacks, Goliath, Elisa, Xanatos, and Dr. Sevarius are lead to Thailog, a clone of Goliath.

The robot Coyote reappears and gives the Pack another chance to battle the gargoyles, after having an upgrade. Meanwhile, Goliath must decide on his second-in-command.

Elisa is acting strangely, so Goliath and Broadway go to investigate. They discover that gangster Tony Dracon is running a protection racket, and Elisa seems to have joined him.

Goliath goes to extreme lengths to help Elisa's brother and the other Mutates, even kidnapping Sevarius to force him to make a cure. But with the Mutates blaming Goliath for their condition, things get tense.

Tom, the boy from Castle Wyvern, appears in New York fully grown and asks Goliath for his help in defeating the Archmage, Macbeth, Demona, and the Weird Sisters on the mystical island of Avalon.

Goliath, Elisa and Bronx accompany Tom to Avalon to stop the Archmage and in doing so find out what happened 1000 years ago. Meanwhile, a back-story is given to the Archmage.

Goliath enlists some unusual help to defeat the Archmage and the Weird Sisters.

Avalon has sent Goliath, Angela, Elisa, and Bronx to the former site of Castle Wyvern. Goliath is haunted by memories from his time at the castle, and finds who is causing them.

Arriving in Canada, the world tourists encounter their first children of Oberon through Grandmother, Natsilane, and the malevolent Raven.

Returning to Scotland, this time at Loch Ness the world tourists encounter Dr. Sevarius and the Loch Ness Monster.

Arriving in Prague, Goliath, Elisa, and Bronx come across Halcyon Reynard who wants to make himself immortal by taking the form of the mythical Golem.

Arriving in Paris, the world tourists catch Demona in her human form as Dominque Destine courting MacBeth, and encounter Thailog.

When Goliath and company return to Avalon, the fae lord Oberon and his queen Titania return as well after a millennium-long exile. Trouble ensues when Oberon decides to evict the Avalon Clan from his island.

Finally released from Avalon's spell, Goliath, Elisa, and Bronx arrive back in New York, only to discover that 40 years have passed, and many things have changed for the worse.

Oberon recalls his children to Avalon, but Puck has other plans.

Oberon has decided to help Queen Titania kidnap Xanatos and Fox's child to Avalon, while Xanatos and the Gargoyles battle Oberon to stop him.

While Goliath and Hudson battle Wolf from the Pack, who is armed with a battleaxe possessed by the spirit of Hakon, another assailant ineptly pursues the two for his own revenge.

The young Gargoyles' attempts to help Elisa interfere with a gang war is complicated with the males fighting over the right to court Angela.

The Manhattan Clan captures Demona, only to find that they are falling into a trap involving Fang and Thailog's new gargoyle Clones. Meanwhile, Demona finally meets face-to-face with her daughter Angela, and attempts to bond with her.

Xanatos attempts to carry out part of his repayment for the clan's assistance, but things go dangerously awry when Puck intervenes with possessing Angela, Broadway and Brooklyn with the three spirits that dwelled within Coldstone.

The Clan finds itself attacked by the current generation of Hunters; Jason, Robyn, and Jon Canmore.

The Clan members reluctantly ally themselves with Demona against the Hunters, only to have their opponents strike hard at them when they are most vulnerable.

After destroying their home, the Hunters publicly expose the Clan while vowing to stop Demona's grandest scheme to exterminate humanity.

As the public learns of the existence of gargoyles in NYC, the Manhattan Clan goes into hiding atop the Eyrie Building while an anti-gargoyle group known as the Quarrymen are formed by John Castaway. Meanwhile the police set up a task force led by Matt Bluestone to deal with the issue. When Goliath later visits Elisa to discuss their troubles, the two find themselves on the run from a squad of Quarrymen.

Elisa and a wounded Goliath are pursued through Manhattan by the murderous Quarrymen, while a debate about gargoyles between ADA Margot Yale and "Lennox MacDuff" continues on the local news.

Xanatos arranges a Halloween costume party on top of the Eyrie Building, and the gargoyles plan to attend, pretending to be wearing gargoyle "costumes." However, Elisa and Goliath's relationship has taken a sudden turn. And the shadowy Illuminati are making plans of their own concerning the gargoyles.

The gargoyles mingle with humans in the Eyrie building under cover of a costume party. Thailog returns from his supposed death to claim his "property", and Xanatos is absent from his own party, visiting the White House.

The confrontation between Thailog, Goliath, and the clones turns violent, and Delilah must choose a side. Meanwhile, Xanatos meets with a mysterious man in Washington D.C.

Thailog is told of a lost tale from the Avalon World Tour by his new executive assistant. The tale involves Goliath and company meeting up with Coldstone in the Himalayas. The issue ends with Xanatos meeting up with a familiar face.

Macbeth is aided by Lexington and Hudson to safeguard the Stone of Destiny while it's being taken from London to Scotland. Meanwhile Xanatos prepares for his mission from the Illuminati and recruits Coldsteel and Coyote (Now 5.0).

After Macbeth and the gargoyles make their acquaintance with the London Clan, they unite to protect the Stone from Coldsteel.

The Gargoyles, now joined by Coldstone and Coldfire, continue their fight to protect the Stone from Coldsteel, while their opponents implement the rest of their scheme.

The Phoenix Gate returns to Manhattan, breaks into the Phoenix itself and whisks Brooklyn back to 997 Scotland in the first trip of his 40 year Timedance.

Brooklyn, stranded in 997 Scotland, seeks Goliath's half of the Phoenix Gate to return to his own time but finds it inaccessible within Goliath's petrified pouch at Castle Wyvern. He then accepts his fate, deciding to join forces with the human King Kenneth against their mutual enemies, but realizes he must seek out Demona, despite their animosity, to gather more gargoyles. Meanwhile, in the human realm, King Constantine prepares his forces, including Mail Brigti, to crush an impending invasion.

Brooklyn and Demona's clan join the fight against the usurper King Constantine. Back in 1997, Goliath's brooding about his clan's survival is interrupted by a pair of unexpected and joyous reunions and additions to the family.

As the Redemption Squad approaches their next target, missiles strike and destroy their helicopter.Two months earlier, Hunter observes Dingo and Matrix in Sydney as they foil a bank heist from the Tazmanian Tiger. Later that night, Dingo and Matrix greet the Shaman at Uluru, where they are confronted by Hunter, who offers the carrot of redemption and the respective sticks of American prison for Dingo and permanent electromagnetic dissolution for Matrix. The two agree to join Hunter’s team, who tells them they are off to Tokyo to catch a Tengu.

The Redemption Squad survives the helicopter's explosion thanks to Matrix. As robots begin to attack the team, Fang flies off and Yama gets pinned to the island's cliffside by a robot. Two months earlier, Yama reflects on his banishment from the Ishimura Clan. He cannot return until he has restored his honor, and he is to be his own judge of that. He is soon apprehended by Hunter, Dingo, and Matrix. Hunter offers Yama the carrot of honor restored through service and the stick of threatening the Ishimura Clan. Yama joins the Redemption Squad, and Hunter announces that team is off to Paris to train and then to New York City.

Dingo armors up with Matrix while Hunter jumps on a robot, destroying it with a grenade before getting caught by another. Two weeks earlier, Dingo, Matrix, and Yama continue to train at the Redemption Squad's headquarters below the Eiffel Tower. Hunter visits Notre Dame Cathedral and thinks back to the night her father was killed by Demona and how she and her brothers pursued “the Demon” into the Parisian catacombs. In New York, Hunter briefs the Squad about their target, Anton Sevarius, and their mission to figure out why he keeps visiting the New York's underground tunnels. Dingo grows bored and he and Matrix pursue Sevarius before sunset. Hunter and Yama go underground and find themselves face to face with Fang.

Fang destroys the robot pinning Yama. After goading him for a “thank you”, Yama throws two throwing stars in Fang's direction. Five days earlier, Fang captures Hunter and Yama, who takes them to Sevarius and his latest test subjects. Dingo and Matrix have not made any progress, so Matrix spreads its nanobots to cover more ground, eventually finding the captors before Sevarius can experiment with both Hunter and Yama. Sevarius reminds the Squad that Fang is at Times Square with the CV-1997 Carrier Virus, which will transform the crowds there into armored mutates. Matrix contains the virus just in time at the stroke of midnight, and Fang is subdued by Yama. The victory is short-lived however when they discover that Sevarius has escaped and Tasha, one of mutates, loses all hope for a cure. When the Redemption Squad prepares to leave New York, Hunter asks a superior to reconsider their newest recruit: Fang.

Twenty-nine hours earlier, Hunter briefs the Redemption Squad about the Illuminati Society and the island stronghold they will begin to infiltrate in “Strangers”. In the present, Dingo and Matrix free Hunter from one of the robots, who promptly leaps to attack another. Yama's throwing stars destroy a robot behind Fang. The Squad destroys the last of the island's robots and they enter inside the stronghold. They are ambushed by Mistress Doll, Mistress Quickly, Bardolph, Points, and Pistol; the last of which Dingo recognizes as an old accomplice of his. Pistol's presence prompts another, Dingo's old father-figure, John Oldcastle, now known as Falstaff. The Redemption Squad is promptly welcomed to Eastcheap Isle.

The Redemption Squad and Falstaff's Gang exchange introductions and, during dinner, Falstaff insists to the Squad that the Illuminati are trying to save the world. He introduces fellow members that the Squad is familiar with that vouch for the Society. The Squad ultimately concludes the Society isn't to be trusted but also realize they cannot destroy Eastcheap Isle as originally planned: Dingo learns the island holds the Illuminati's treasury, filled with countless works of art and history. Falstaff anticipates their betrayal, and after a brief stalemate, orders his gang to retreat, revealing Eastcheap to be a submersible ship. The Redemption Squad ultimately survive with Matrix serving as a lifeboat, still seeking redemption.

While Dracon and Brod are held at Rikers, warfare erupts between their respective gangs. Maggie prepares to give birth to her and Talon's child, while Thailog and Sevarius make plans to disrupt Maggie and Talon's lives and abduct their child.

Goliath, Angela, Coldfire and Broadway leave to visit the Labyrinth Clan but find the clan knocked out, with Maggie and Mary kidnapped to Sevarius' lab. Talon assumes that Xanatos is behind the kidnapping and both clans fly to his office to confront him. Meanwhile, Dominic Dracon is released from prison, and his daughter Antoinette visits Tony at Rikers to discuss how to stop the war between the Dracon and Brod gangs before their uncle Dino gets involved.

Goliath calms Talon down from killing Xanatos on the basis that Xanatos himself previously experienced a kidnapping of his child. Xanatos joins the clans on a raid of Sevarius' lab. While a fight breaks out between Thailog and the clans, Mary helps Maggie deliver a baby boy, who shows no signs of inheriting his parents' mutant abilities or features. Thailog, disappointed by the news, gives up and allows the Manhattan and Labyrinth clans to leave. Maggie and Talon name the boy Michael Peter Maza, after the names of their respective grandfathers.

Dino Dracon plans to bring down four rival crime families and the NYPD. Two teenagers, Peter and Rosie, are kidnapped by gangsters wearing gargoyle masks. Goliath and Hudson, who are flying by for unrelated reasons, intervene against the gangmembers, but helicopters from the Gargoyle Task Force fly in to capture Goliath while the gangmembers get away with the teenagers.

Goliath is captured by the city's Gargoyle Task Force, and Hudson is convinced by Bluestone to stand down. Goliath is detained at Rikers, but when Brooklyn leads a rescue, Goliath orders him to abort the attempt and leave him at Rikers. Pretrial deliberations ensue between ADA Yale and defense attorney Tobe Crest. Meanwhile, Dino Dracon's gangmembers send competing proofs of life to Peter and Rosie's parents, who are leaders of two of the crime families, resulting in the parents planning to go to war with each other.

Brooklyn feels the strain of leadership as hopes for Goliath’s release from prison grow dimmer by the hour. Can the members of the Manhattan Clan put aside their differences before the crime syndicates of New York combine to crush the entire city?

More important than old boyfriends, however - at least to Demona - is the presence in the city of the fabled relic known as the Eye of Odin, which she believes will be able to grant her aging daughter the same immortality that has kept her young for more than a century. But when the keeper of the Eye is found dead, Demona quickly becomes the prime suspect - and it's up to Angelika to find the real culprit before the heavy hand of medieval justice comes down upon them all!

The year is 1274, and Demona and Angelika have settled in Japan, where they are helping a local clan to raise a new generation of Gargoyles - including a precocious young rookling named Katana. Demona hasn't given up her quest to restore Angelika's youth, but her now-widowed adopted daughter is more concerned with keeping her mother from being consumed by her bitterness in the years to come - a goal that may slip away forever when the clan is attacked by a new force of Gargoyle hunters!
