ENCOUNTER AT FARPOINT
Captain Jean-Luc Picard leads the crew of the USS Enterprise-D on its maiden voyage, to examine a new planetary station for trade with the Federation. On the way, they encounter Q, an omnipotent extra-dimensional being, who challenges Humanity as a barbaric, inferior species. Picard and his new crew must hold off Q's challenge and solve the puzzle of Farpoint station on Deneb IV, a base that is far more than it seems to be.
THE NAKED NOW
The crew of the Enterprise is infected with a virus that causes them to behave as though they were intoxicated.
CODE OF HONOR
When the leader of an alien culture takes a romantic interest in Lt. Yar, he claims her for his own, to the dismay of his own wife, who, in turn, challenges Tasha in a fight to the death.
THE LAST OUTPOST
The Enterprise is in pursuit of the Ferengi when both ships are drained of
power. Picard, believing the Ferengi have initiated this energy withdrawl
announces that the Enterprise is willing to resolve the situation. A mysterious
being known as Portal, guardian of the Tkron Empire, appears and puts the
Enterprise and the Ferengi to a test.
WHERE NO ONE HAS GONE BEFORE
The Enterprise is traveling through uncharted territory when a test of the
ship's engines results in a backfire that sends them a billion light years from
home. They've been thrown offcourse by the mental powers of a humanoid alien
posing as a propulsion assistant. The crew find themselves in an alternate
reality. Their only hope is the mental powers of the alien, who is dying.
LONELY AMONG US
While transporting two adversary civilizations to a conference on the planet
Parliament, the Enterprise passes through a "cloud" containing a series of
complex energy patterns. Lt. Worf and Dr. Crusher begin behaving strangely.
Suddenly the deadly force that invades them takes over the mind of Picard, and
their leader as they know him is gone.
JUSTICE
The crew is awaiting a much needed vacation on the planet of Rubicam Three.
Their leave gets off to a bad start when Wesley is sentenced to death for
accidentaly violating the customs of the Edo, an alien planet. Picard is forced
to negociate for Wesley's life. Picard confronts the powerful and mysterious
vessel the inhabitants of Edo consider to be God.
THE BATTLE
The crew of the Enterprise discovers an old-style starship. Much to Picard's
delight, the ship is the Stargazer, the ship he had been forced to abandon years
earlier in the battle of Maxia. The Ferengi now control the ship and say they
are returning it to Starfleet. But hidden on the ship is a deadly mind-altering
device designed as revenge against Picard for the death of a Ferengi captain's
son. Picard becomes plagued with unexplained headaches and beams over to the
Stargazer unexpectedly and raises the shields to keep others from beaming over.
HIDE AND Q
While rushing to aid survivors on a planet rocked by explosions, the Enterprise
is once again boarded by Q. He tempts Riker with the power of the Q, telling him
he can give his friends anything they want and Picard supports the move,
trusting in the honor of his crew members.
HAVEN
Troi's mother visits to inform her of marriage plans her late father arranged on
her behalf. Honoring Betazoid customs, Deanna agrees to marry the son of her
father's best friend. Wedding plans come to a halt when the groom learns that
his true love is alive aboard a Tarellian ship, one of the last survivors of a
biological warfare blast.
THE BIG GOODBYE
The Enterprise must pass the quadrant Korona Four, which is inhabited by the
Jarada, an insect-like race that demand a precise greeting from the captain of
any vessel wishing to enter their territory. Taking a break from the greeting
preperations, Picard, Crusher, Data and Whalen visit 1941 San Fransico in the
holodeck. The holodeck malfunctions, the four crew members are trapped in the
20th century.
DATALORE
The crew investigates the mysterious disappearance of an Earth colony in the
Omicron Theta star system 26 years earlier, precisely the time Lt. Commander
Data was discovered there. On the planet they discover a laboratory filled with
android parts. When Crusher and the chief engineer assemble the parts, they
bring to life a duplicate of Data, named Lore.
ANGEL ONE
Seven years ago a Federation fighter was disabled on Angel One, a planet run by
women. The crew discovers that all the survivors are fugitives because they
refuse to support the female-run government. The Enterprise can not stay to
help. A contagious virus has broken out on the ship and the Enterprise has been
called to help fend off Romulans in the Neutral Zone.
11001001
The Enterprise docks at Starbase 74, where the Bynars, a species interdependent
with computers, are supposed to upgrade the ships computer system. Instead of
enhancing the computer, the Bynars program it to read that the ship's magnetic
field is deteriorating and it will self-destruct. Unable to find Picard or
Riker, Data evacuates the ship and sends it into space so it won't destroy the
Starbase.
TOO SHORT A SEASON
When Federation officals are taken hostage by Karnas, the govenor of Mordan IV,
the Enterprise enlists the help of Admiral Mark Jameson. Jameson, at first is an
old man, terminally ill. But he starts to get healthy, and younger. When
confronted, he finally admits that an alien drug he took to heal his disease is
rapidly de-aging him.
WHEN THE BOUGH BREAKS
The Enterprise accidentlly discovers Aledea, a planet with advanced technology.
It's soon discovered that the Enterprise's find was no accident. The Aldeans
have lost the ability to reproduce and kidnap several children, including
Wesley, from the Enterprise to repopulate their race.
HOME SOIL
At the Federation's request, the crew visits Velara III, where a group of
terraformers are trying to make a desolate planet habitable. When one of the
terraformers is accidently killed, Data investigates and is attacked by the same
laser drilling system. He escapes injury, but discovers a small life-form that
is trying to communicate with them.
COMING OF AGE
The Enterprise orbits Relva 7 while Wesley Crusher beams down to take his
Starfleet Academy entrance exam. Back on board Picard and his crew are quizzed
by Lt. Commander Remmick who is investigating Picard's competence. During
Picard's investigation he is distracted by an out-of-control shuttle, stolen by
an upset student who failed his exam.
HEART OF GLORY
Worf's loyalties are tested to the limits as renegade Klingons who at first seem
to be refugees of an unjust system of law are rescued from a doomed freighter by
the Enterprise. But the survivors soon turn out to terrorists who favor a return
to the Klingon ways of old and see the Enterprise as the ideal weapon with which
to begin a new reign of terror.
THE ARSENAL OF FREEDOM
The USS Drake has disappeared and the Enterprise has gone in search of it. When
the crew arrives at the planet Minos, they are greeted by a pre-recorded sales
pitch for advanced weaponry, but the crew discover there are no people to be
found on the planet. An Away Team consisting of Riker, Data and Yar runs
headlong into danger when Riker is put in suspended animation by an intelligent
robot weapon which proved to be too powerful for its creators - and it looks as
if it may eliminate the away team, joined by Picard and Dr. Crusher, while its
counterpart attacks the Enterprise, where Geordi fears his experience may not be
enough to help the crew survive.
SYMBIOSIS
The Enterprise beams four passengers of a freighter aboard just before their
vessel explodes in a planet's atmosphere, but the two pairs of survivors can't
agree on who gets a barrel of felicium, an "elixir" which Dr. Crusher soon
recognizes to be a narcotic - but the manufacturers of the drug soon see an
opportunity to exploit their dependents by entangling Picard and Dr. Crusher in
the prime directive.
SKIN OF EVIL
A malfunction causes Councelor Troi's shuttle to crash land on Varga II as she
is returning to the Enterprise. The Enterprise rushes to rescue the
shuttlecraft. The Away Team discovers that Armus, an evil entity, is preventing
them from saving Troi and the shuttle pilot. To make sure that its point is
clear, Armus kills Tasha Yar and torments Troi and the rest of the crew.
WE'LL ALWAYS HAVE PARIS
The crew experiences a bizarre phenomenon when a moment in time repeats itself.
Then suddenly they recieve a distress call from Dr. Paul Manheim on Vandor Four.
The crew saves Manheim and his wife, but not before they realize that his
experiments have caused the time distortion and haved cracked a window into a
new dimension.
CONSPIRACY
Picard is taken into the confidence of his good friend Captain Walker Keel, who
warns that Starfleet is slowly being taken over by a conspiracy that plans to
use the resources of Starfleet for conquest. After the shocking destruction of
Keel's ship and a series of grisly discoveries about the High Admirals of
Starfleet, Picard learns that Earth is the home of the queen of an alien swarm.
THE NEUTRAL ZONE
Data, curious about three cryogenically frozen earth people from the 20th
century found in a derelict preservation satellite, brings them back to the ship
and Dr. Crusher revives them. Meanwhile, Picard and Riker must be prepared to
negotiate or fight as the Romulans return to the borders of the neutral zone -
and the 20th century visitors only complicate matters.
THE CHILD
Dr. Pulaski join the crew in the episode while Dr. Crusher takes an assignment
at Starfleet medical headquarters. The Enterprise flies to Odet IX to pick up
several deadly "plasma plague" samples needed to develop an innoculate for an
outbreak of plasma plague in the Ricellas system. Newly promoted Chief Enigneer
Geordi La Forge replicates a series of containment modules to hold the samples
at "zero growth" for the trip. At the same time a small energy ball slips
through the hull of the ship and finds a sleeping Troi. The ball imprenates her.
Thirty-six hours later she gives birth to a son which she names Ian Andrew,
after her father.
WHERE SILENCE HAS LEASE
While mapping a little know quadrant, the Enterprise encounters an "area of
darkness." When they move closer to investigate they are swollowed up by the
void. The sensors show nothing, communiocations are out, and they can't escape.
Suddenly the view screen changes, showing a pair of eyes and a mouth. The entity
identifies itself as Nagilum. He spins Dr. Pulaski around because she is a
different construction, female. He asks if the crew has a limited existence,
then kills an ensign to find the answer. He informs them he must kill one third
of the crew to understand death.
ELEMENTARY, MY DEAR DATA
The Enterprise is scheduled to meet with the USS Victory, but have three days to
wait for them at the rendezvous, so the crew takes some time to relax. Geordi
suggests that he and Data enjoy a Sherlock Holmes mystery on the holodeck.
Geordi gets upset and exits after Data immediately solves the mystery. They get
Dr. Pulaski to join them and Geordi instructs the computer tocreate an adversary
capable of defeating Data. The computer creates a superintelligent Dr. Moriarty
and gives the character access to the main computer. The character seizes
control of the holodeck and continues to grow mentally, the transfers helm
control to the holodeck and demands to leave the holodeck.
THE OUTRAGEOUS OKANA
Responding to a ship in distress, the Enterprise finds an empty cargo freighter
with a malfunctioning guidance system, captained by a man named Okana. The crew
offers to fix his ship and beam him aboard while they do the repairs. As Okana
fraternizes with several of the female crew members, two more vessels approach
carring leaders from a neighboring system. One accuses him of fathering his
daughter's child, the other accuses him of stealing one of the crown jewels of
the kingdom. Both want the Enterprise to hand Okana over to them.
THE SCHIZOID MAN
The Enterprise responds to a distress call from a planet inhabited only by Dr.
Ira Graves and his assistant, Kareem Brianon. Dr. Graves has been working on
bridging the gap between biological and machine intelligence. At the same time
the Enterprise recieves another distress signal from a transport ship. They drop
Data, Troi, Worf, and doctor Selar at Grave's wrld, then leave to help the
transport. Dr. Selar learns that Dr. Graves is dying. While waiting for the
Enterprise to return Data and Graves become close. Just as the Enterprise
returns, Data walks out of Grave's office announcing he has died. The away team
beams up with Kareem and Grave's body, soon after Data begins acting strangely,
even dislaying emotions.
LOUD AS A WHISPER
The Enterprise transports one of the Federation's best peacekeepers, a man named
Riva. The warring factors of Solari V have petitioned the Federation for a
negotiator. Due to Riva being deaf he travles with three interpreters which he
calls his chorus. They sense his thoughts, expressions and feelings and each one
speaks for a different part of his emotions. When Riva's chorus is killed by one
of the factors after beaming down to the negotiations, Riva becomes distraught
and feels he is unable to complete his task. Troi asks Picard for permission to
beam down and try to negotiate with the factions, but before doing so she goes
to Riva for advice.
UNNATURAL SELECTION
After finding the USS Lantree totally lifeless, it's crew dead from the rapid
onset of old age. The Enterprise sets course for the Lantree's last stop, The
Darwin Genetic Research Station. When the Enterprise arrives they find the
researchers experiencing the same swift aging as the crew of the Lantree. The
researchers plead for Picard to evacuate their "children" for fear they will
become infected as well. Picard refuses at first then allows Dr. Pulaksi to beam
one child aboard in suspended animation. Pulaski feels that the child is safe,
but icard is still not convinced. Pulaski takes the boy and Data aboard a
shuttle to prove she is right and releases the boy from suspended animation.
Eighteen minutes after examining the boy Pulaski experiences the first symptom
of the diseaase.
A MATTER OF HONOR
Riker and Wesley greet a new group of crew members from Starbase 179 for the
officer-exchange program the Enterprise is a part of. One of the crew members is
a Benzite named Mendon. Picard asks Riker to serve aboard a Klingon vessel as
first officer for the program. Riker prepares himself for the task by eating
Klingon foods and brushing up on the Klingon language. Just before he beams over
to the Klingon ship Worf gives him an emergency transponder in case of trouble.
Mendon notices a strange organism on the hull of the Klingon vessel but fails to
report it directly. Sometime after the Klingon ship has left he discovers the
same organism on the hull of the Enterprise. This time he reports it immediately
and is rebuffed by Picard for not reporting it sooner, but is then given the
task to find a way to remove it. The Enterprise changes course to pursue the
Klingon vessel. Riker earns the respect of the Klingon crew after he beat up the
second in command. The Klingon captain questions Rikers loyalty after he
discovers the organism on their hull. He cloaks the ship and changes course to
intercept the Enterprise with the intent to destroy her.
THE MEASURE OF A MAN
In this episode the Enterprise makes it's way to Starbase 173 for crew rotation.
Once they are there Picard is informed by an admiral that Commander Bruce Maddox
is going to work on Data because he is close to being able to reproduce Data. He
wants to take Data apart and study his positronic brain. Data expresses his
doubts about the procedure to Picard and he refuses Maddox's request. Maddox
gives Picard orders transferring Data to his command. When Data finds he cannot
fight the transfer he decides to resign. Maddox goes to the Judge for the
Starbase and claims Data is only a machine and can't resign. Picard challeges
the Judges ruling nd forces her to hold a hearing. Data requests Picard defend
him at the hearing and since the JAG office is new they have no staff, so Riker
must argue for Maddox's position. Riker makes such a strong argument that Picard
requests a recess.
THE DAUPHIN
The Enterprise is ordered to transport Salia and Anya to the planet Daled IV.
For sixteen years Anya prepared Salia her role as leader to a war-torn race.
Salia catches Wesley's eye and the two become close. Worf gives Anya a tour of
the ship and when he takes her to sick bay she orders Pulaski to kill a patient
because that patient has an infectious disease. Pulaski refuses and Anya
transforms into a large beast. She ceases her attck when Picard arrives with a
team from security. She is escorted back to her quarters only to find Salia
gone. Anya and Picard find her speaking with Wesley and she immediately drags
Salia back to their quarters. Picard asks Wesley to stay away from Salia because
of the danger Anya poses to the ship. Salia sneaks out to Wesley's quarters
after Anya falls asleep and just as the two kiss Anya appears. She turns into
the beast again, then Salia changes into a beast also and challenges her.
CONTAGION
When the USS Yamato self-destructs in the Neutral Zone duen tom masive system
failures, Picard assumes the mission of it's captain. Captain Donald Varley
believed he had found the home planet of the Iconians, a fabled race of
incredible technology. On the way to Iconia, the Enterprise begins having system
problems similar to the Yamato's. Picard beams down to the planet with Worf and
Data to try and find a solution to their problem. The Iconian computer station
probes Data with the same computer program that is damaging the Enterprise after
it scanned the Yamato's logs. Picard sends Worf and the disabled Data back to
the ship, hoping La Forge can help Data and save the ship.
THE ROYALE
The Enterprise makes orbit around Theta VIII after getting a report from a
Klingon ship of spacehip debris in orbit around the planet. They beam a chunk of
it aboard and find NASA markings along with an American flag having fifty-two
stars on it dating it to the twenty-first century Earth. Detecting an area of
breathable air, Riker, Worf, and Data beam down to the planet. They find a
Casino-Hotel called "The Royale" made to resemble twentieth-century Earth. The
investigate the hotel and find the remains of a Colonel Steven Richie who has
been dead for 283 years. The crew also discover they can not leave the hotel.
They read a sketchy diary from the dead Colonel and find an alien presence
accidently killed all the other austronauts of his crew. Saddend the aliens
tried to find some way to provide for the Colonel. They found a book called
Hotel Royale among the crew's belongings and thought it was the way humans lived
so they created the place for him to live out his remaining days. Unfortunately
Riker, Data, and Worf are now stranded in the live novel.
TIME SQUARED
The Enterprise finds a shuttle craft drifting in space and bring it aboard.
Inside they find an unconscious Picard. Pulaski takes him to sick bay while the
other Picard orders the logs from the shuttle craft downloaded into the ships
computers. Data and Geordi access the logs and discover the shuttle is from six
hours into the future and in six hours the Enterprise will be destroyed by an
energy vortex. Several hours later the vortex opens under the ship and the
captain tries to fly it away from the vortex. An energy bolt hits him and sends
him across the bridge. Troi says the consciousness of the vortex is centered on
Picard.
THE ICARUS FACTOR
Worf has reached the tenth anniversary of his age of ascension and since there
are no other Klingons on board to participate in the ceremony with him, Wesley
gets a few of the crew together and holds the ceremony on the holodeck. Riker
gets offered the command of the Aries and his father beams aboard to brief him.
It is evident from the start that father and son do not have the best of
relationships. Kyle Riker left his son to fend for himself fifteen years prior
and Will Riker still holds it against him.
PEN PALS
While Data conducts experiments to determine what is causing the planets in the
Selcundi Drema System to have violent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, he
tunes the sensor array to scan wavelengths normally ignored. He comes across a
low intensity radio frequency and hears the voice of a little girl named
Sarjenka asking the question, "Is anybody out there?" He answers her with a
simple "Yes." When Data discovers her planet is beginning to experience the same
volcanic actifvity he goes to Picard and explains he has been in contact for
some time with the girl. Picard orders him to break contact with her immediately
and calls a private meeting with the senior staff in his quarters.
Q WHO
Q pays the Enterprise a visit after he is kicked out of the Continuum and bored
from wandering around he galaxy. He informs Picard he wants to become a member
of the crew. Picard considers is request then turns him down, so Q decides to
show them what is out there. He transports them seven thousand light years with
a snap of his fingers. Guinan warns Picard to start for home immediately because
she was familiar with where they were. Picard decides to survey some planets
while they are there and find the first plane they scan to be striped of all the
machine elements from it's surface. A cube-shaped ship appears out of no where.
The crew soon learn they are called the Borg, a humanoid race who have combined
themselves with artificial intelligence and function with one collective mind.
They send a scout to determine the strenth and weaknessess of the Enterprise.
SAMERATIN SNARE
Picard and Wesley leave for Starbase 515 in a shuttlecraft and shortly after the
Enterprise receives a distress call from a Pakled ship. The Pakled's are a
mentally limited race of scavengers. They claim their ship is broken and La
forge beams over to help them fix it. After he finishes the repairs on their
ship they take his phaser and stun him. They demand Riker to give them all
computer records to make them smart or they will kill Geordi. Meanwhile, Picard
goes into surgery at the Starbase because the replacement heart he was given
when his own was injured in a fight with a Norsican when he was a cadet became
faulty. They run into difficulties during the operation and the Starbase sends
out urgent message for Dr. Pulaski to come assist. The crew race to save Geordi
from the Pakled's or risk having to leave him there to go save their captain.
UP THE LONG LADDER
The Enterprise receives a distress call from the Ficus Sector while docked at
Starbase 73. They discover that a ship called the SS Mariposa traveled there in
the early twenty-second century carrying colonists, primitive tools, and
technologically advanced computers. They find a group of 223 colonists and farm
animals calling themselves the Bringloidi. After beaming the whole colony and
their animals to one of the cargo bay, Picard learns that there was another
group of colonists aboard the Mariposa. They find a colony of clones in a nearby
solar system. Unfortunately the clones will no longer be viable in two or three
generations due "replicative failure" in the DNA and they will all die. Picard
suggests a solution by joining clone and Bringloidi societies together. The
clones need new breeding stock and the Bringloidi need a new home. The clones
refuse at first and attempt to steal fresh DNA from Pulaski and Riker. However
when they are caught and the new clones are destroyed, they agree.
MANHUNT
On it's way to Antedi III to pick up two delegates and transport them to
Pacifica for a conference the Enterprise is intercepted by a transport carrying
Lwaxana Troi. She is the representitive for Betazed at the conference. The crew
soon learn her other purpose for being aboard. She is going through "The Phase."
It is the time in the Betazoid womans life when she becomes fully sexual. Being
widowed for several years she decides to find a new husband and she sets her
sights on Picard. Riker and Data find Picard in the holodeck playing the role of
his favorite character, Dixon Hill and hiding from Lwaxana. She eventually finds
them and becomes interested in one of the characters of the holo-program,
unaware that he is a mere hologram.
THE EMISSARY
The Enterprise intercepts a class 8 probe carrying an emissary with information
on their mission. Riker and chief O'Brien open the probe and find K`Ehleyr, a
half Klingon and half Human woman. She informs them that a Klingon ship carrying
a crew in suspended animation for seventy-five years is returning from a secret
mission and are unaware the war between the Klingon Empire and the Federation is
over. When they awaken they will begin attacking Federation outposts and
colonies in the area. Picard orders Worf and K`Ehleyr to work together to find a
solution to the situation after she suggests the only thing to do is destroy the
Klingon ship when they find it. He is unaware that the two knew each other very
well six years ago, but parted badly and the animosity is still present.
PEAK PERFORMANCE
A Zakdorn named Sirna Kolrami beams aboard when the crew engage in war games
between the Enterprise and an eighty year old ship named the Hathaway. His race
is legendary for their strategic and tactical skills and he was sent to oversee
the simulations. Riker and forty crew members command the Hathaway during the
simulation. When the simulations begin Worf makes the Enterprise think a Romulan
vessel is attacking by displaying a false image appear on their sensors and
viewscreen. Picard falls for the trick and allows Riker to score several hits
when he turns the Enterprise away from them. He changes the codes so Worf can
not pull the same trick again. When the Enterprise is about to finish the
Hathaway off the sensors pick up a Ferengi ship. Thinking Worf is trying to
trick them again Picard ignores the ship. Only this time a real Ferengi ship is
attacking them.
SHADES OF GREY
Riker is stabbed in the leg by the thorn of a plant while preforming a
geological survey on an unexplored planet. The plant infected him with some
microbes that if go untreated will reach his brain and kill him. Dr. Pulaski
brings in a machine to stimulate the brain directly and keep him alive after the
microbes reach his spinal cord. While Pulaski tunes the machine, it causes Riker
to reexperience his life aboard the Enterprise. She soon learns that the
memories he is having is affecting the metabolism of the microbes. With the help
of Deanna, Pulaski finds the right type of memories, bad and stressful ones,
then begins to dive the mircrobes from his body by stimulating his brain to
increase the intensity of those types of memories.
EVOLUTION
The Enterprise is assisting an astrophysicist, Stubbs, in performing experiments
in a binary star system when suddenly, the ship shakes, the shields drop and the
Enterprise is sent hurling through space. After regaining control of the ship,
the crew is perplexed by the sudden computer malfunctions encountered.
Meanwhile, Wesley realizes that two tiny robots he accidentally let loose may be
responsible for the mysterious problems the crew is facing.
THE ENSIGNS OF COMMAND
The Enterprise receives a message from the Sheliak, a race the Federation had
not heard from in over 100 years. The Sheliak insist that a world in the Tau
Cygna Five system is theirs and demand the immediate removal of humans from that
system. The Enterprise does not believe that humans are on that planet due to
the fact that the planet has extremely high radiation levels but travels there
anyway only to discover a thriving civilization that refuses to evacuate the
planet. Data has to convince the people of the planet to leave or be destroyed
by the Sheliak.
THE SURVIVORS
The Enterprise is sent to investigate an emergency distress call from the Delta
Rana system. Upon arrival, the crew discover that all of the inhabitants have
been killed except for one couple. An away team beams down to retrieve the
survivors in case the aliens that destroyed the planet returned. The survivors
refuse to leave the planet stating they can care for themselves. The away team
returns to the Enterprise to discuss the situation and are attacked by an alien
ship. Meanwhile, Troi is suffering due to some strange music she keeps hearing
in her mind.
WHO WATCHES THE WATCHERS
The Enterprise must undo the damage when a primitive civilization discovers a Federation observation team and concludes that the Starfleet personnel are gods.
THE BONDING
A sudden explosion kills Marla Aster on a mission to explore the home of a
londead race. Worf, who commanded the away team, rages about the senseless
nature of the women's death and plans to offer the Klingon bonding rite to her
remaining son, Jeremy. Meanwhile, an energy field is discovered on the planet
and Troi senses an alien presence rising upward from it toward the ship. Almost
immediately, Jeremy sees his mother who has come, seemingly from the dead, to
take him down to the planet.
BOOBY TRAP
After discovering a derelict ship in an asteroid belt, the Enterprise is trapped
in an energy field that prevents them from leaving. Furthermore, they begin to
lose energy reserves and discover that their shields will not keep out the
radiation for long. Geordi races against time, with the assistance of an
holographic version of one of the ship's designers, to discover a way to escape
the deadly trap.
THE ENEMY
The Enterprise investiages a distress call on a Federation planet with a
particularly harsh surface and winds. The away team finds the remains of a
Romulan ship and one Romulan, barely alive. The away team beams aboard the
Enterprise with the Romulan, accidentally stranding Geordi on the planet where
he, moments before beaout time, stumbled into a pit. The crew of the
Enterprise struggles to keep the Romulan alive and to locate Geordi on the
surface. Meanwhile, on the surface, as Geordi moves closer to the beacon the
Enterprise left to guide him, he is taken prisoner by a second Romulan, Bokra.
Geordi attempts to convince Bokra that they must work together to stay alive and
be rescued while a Romulan Warbird closes in on the Enterprise determined to
retrieve their lost comrades from the grip of the Federation.
THE PRICE
A race of beings known as the Barzan have discovered the only known stable
wormhole and are willing to sell it to the highest bidder. The Enterprise
carries several delegates to the site of the wormhole including a hired
representative of the Chrysalian people who takes an interest in Troi. Geordi
and Data enter the wormhole and discover that it is not truly stable. Meanwhile,
Troi discovers that the representative of the Chrysalians, Ral, is part Betazoid
and empathic and has been using his ability to gain unfair advantage in the
negotiations.
THE VENGEANCE FACTOR
A science outpost is attacked by the Gatherers, a band of Acamarian renegades.
Picard talks with Marook, the Sovereign of Acamar Three, who wants to hunt the
Gatherers down and destroy them. Picard convinces her to attempt to negotiate
first and she and her cook board the Enterprise to travel to a Gatherer outpost
to open talks. While there, the leader of the group is killed by a mysterious
assassin.
THE DEFECTOR
A Romulan scoutship, with a Romulan Warbird in pursuit, hails the Enterprise and
requests asylum. After the Enterprise easily chases off the Warbird, they beam
aboard the occupant of the scoutship, Setal, who has information about a new
Romulan offensive. The Enterprise crew, skeptical about the defector's claims
and motives and attempting to get at the truth, travels to Nelvana 3 where there
is supposed to be a Romulan base at which a large Romulan fleet will gather to
launch an offensive against the Federation.
THE HUNTED
The Enterprise visist Angosia 3, a planet which has applied for membership in
the Federation. While there, a prisoner escapes jail and Prime Minister Narok
asks for assistance in recapturing him. The Enterprise succeeds in capturing
him, only to find that he is extremely dangerous and not all that Narok has
claimed him to be.
THE HIGH GROUND
Dr. Crusher is kidnapped by terrorists who are demanding independance for their
territory. They use an instantaneous teleportation device, which is slowly
killing them, and transport aboard the Enterprise in an attempt to destroy it.
Meanwhile Crusher attempts to save the terrorists from the tissue degeneration
which is killing them.
DEJA Q
While on a mission to rescue a planet from its own moon which has fallen out of
orbit, the Enterprise is visited once more by the mysterious Q. This time, Q,
totally naked, claims he has been kicked out of the Q-Continuum and asks for
sanctuary. Q is now mortal and wants guidance from the crew on how to be human,
in exchange for his experience and knowledge. While on the Enterprise, Q is
attacked by the Calamarians, a race that wants revenge on Q for acts done to
them.
A MATTER OF PERSPECTIVE
Dr. Apgar, a scientist working on Krueger waves, is killed when the station he
was working on suddenly explodes moments after Riker talks with him privately.
Chief Investigator Krag, arrives on board the Enterprise and demands Riker be
turned over to him to face trial for murder. Picard, unwilling to release Riker
without a hearing convinces the Chief Investigator to allow the circumstances of
the incident be recreated on the holodeck with the help of statements from all
parties concerned. Meanwhile, bursts of unknown radiation, able to cause damage
to metal, plague the Enterprise.
YESTERDAY'S ENTERPRISE
While investigating a temporal rift, the Enterprise encounters a ghost from its own past the USS Enterprise-C, which travels twenty two years into the future and changes the course of history. With the flow of history changed, Tasha Yar still lives and the Federation is losing a decadelong war with the Klingon Empire.
THE OFFSPRING
Data, after returning from a cybernetics conference, builds a robot child, Lal.
While the crew attempts to deal with Data's fatherhood, Data attempts to teach
Lal about humanity. Starfleet Admiral Haftel, after hearing about the
experiment, attempts to convince Picard that the new robot should be moved to
the Daystrom Institute where she can be properly studied and taught.
SINS OF THE FATHER
As part of the exchange program that once made Riker First Officer on a Klingon
ship, Commander Kurn joins the Enterprise. Kurn is Worf's younger brother and
has come to tell Worf that their father has been accused of betraying the
Klingons by revealing the location of the Khitomer outpost to the Romulans.
Worf, by Klingon tradition must travel to the homeworld of the Klingon empire to
challenge the accusation and, if he fails, will die as a traitor.
ALLEGIANCE
Picard is taken from the Enterprise while he sleeps by a strange probe and
wakens in a prison with two other captives. Neither can explain how they came to
be there nor have they seen their captors. Soon they are joined by a fourth
captive - a carnivorous alien who will eat the others if they do not escape and
food is not provided. In the midst of mutual dislike and lack of trust, the four
captives must find a way to escape or contact their captors. Meanwhile, Picard
has been replaced on the Enterprise by a nearly exact duplicate.
CAPTAIN'S HOLIDAY
Picard is talked into taking a vacation on Risa, a pleasure planet. When he
arrives, he bumps into a women who, pursued by a Ferengi, grabs him and kisses
him as if they were old friends. They later meet again and, after introductions,
Picard discovers that she is out to find the location of a device brought from
the future. The Ferengi also wants the device or the disk that the woman, Vash,
has that reveals the location of the device. Meanwhile, two security agents from
the future confront Picard and tell him that he is destined to find the device
and they have come back in time to retrieve it from him. Vash and Picard team up
to find he device and thwart the Ferengi but, Picard hopes to turn it over to
the security agents.
TIN MAN
The Hood unexpectedly joins the Enterprise and delivers their new orders and a
passenger, Tam Elbrun. Tam is a Betazoid telepath and specializes in
first-contacts but, he is also not well liked because he lacks tact. Tam
explains that a recently discovered object in orbit around a dying star is
suspected of being a living spaceship, dubbed "Tin Man" and Tam's mission is to
contact it. However, the Romulans claim that space and are also sending ships to
contact the newly discovered alien.
HOLLOW PURSUITS
Barclay, a shy and incompetent crewmember, retreats to the holodeck to spend his
life in a fantasy world hecreates for himself. When Barclay misses an important
meeting, Geordi invades his holodeck creation and discovers The Three
Musketeers, in which the characters are based on the crew, including Troi as the
Goddess of Empathy and Riker as a fearful knave.
THE MOST TOYS
Data is using the shuttles to transfer a large cargo of a special element that
cannot be transported when, on the last trip, his shuttle mysteriously explodes.
The Enterprise is forced to leave the area to deliver their cargo and are not
able to investigate the accident. Meanwhile, Data has not been destroyed but
captured by Kavis who is a collector of rare and unique things and Data would be
a fine addition to his collection.
SAREK
Ambassador Sarek comes aboard the Enterprise with his staff and new, human wife,
to complete treaty negotiations with the Legarans who insisted on him mediating.
Soon after his arrival, the crew of the Enterprise begin to suffer from bouts of
violence and other emotional outbursts. Eventually, the crew discovers that
Sarek is suffering from a rare Vulcan disease that erodes all emotional control
in Vulcans. Since Vulcans are highly telepathic, he has been broadcasting
emotions to the crew. But, because of his illness, the important treaty with the
Legarans is in jeopardy.
ME'NAGE A` TROI
The Enterprise travels to Betazed for a reception following a trade agreement.
While there Deanna visits her mother and gets into an argument about settling
down and raising a family. Meanwhile, Daimon Tog, of the Ferengi, takes a liking
to Lwaxana both sexually and because her telepathy will help him in making
deals. Lwaxana is repulsed by his offers and orders him away. Tog, not to be
dismissed so easily, kidnaps Lwaxana (along with Riker and Deanna) and takes
them aboard his ship where he hopes to convince Lwaxana to marry him.
TRANSFIGURATIONS
The Enterprise rescues an injured human from a damaged escape pod in an
unexplored system. Dr. Crusher finds that his recuperative powers are incredible
and that he will revive, given time. When he does, he has no memories of who he
is, where he is from, or how his ship was wrecked. Still suffering from bouts of
severe pain, Dr. Crusher finds that he is emitting inixplicable energy bursts
which are somehow linked to his cells. Furthermore, he begins to exhibit strange
abilities like being able to heal injuries with the energy bursts.
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
The Borg begin an invasion of Federation space much sooner than was expected. With the Enterprise unable to affect them, the Borg capture Captain Picard and turn him into one of their own.
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS - PART II
With Captain Picard assimilated by the Borg, the enemy is able to totally vanquish a Starfleet/Klingon armada at Wolf 359, leaving Riker in command of the Enterprise and forced to go one on one with his former captain.
FAMILY
drydock at Earth Station McKinley, the Enterprise is undergoing extensive
repairs while the crew, most notably Captain Picard, recover from the Borg
invasion attempt. Picard returns to France for a less than warm welcome from his
brother Robert, while Worf's human foster parents beam aboard, concerned about
Worf's feelings since his dishonor from the Klingon Empire.
BROTHERS
While rushing a young boy to a Starbase medical facility after his older brother
played a cruel practical joke on him, the Enterprise is suddenly diverted from
her course and headed for an unknown, out-of-the-way planet. What no one
realizes until it's too late is that Data is responsible for this, having been
taken over by a homing signal that leads him to his creator, Dr. Soong, who had
been thought dead for many years. Data has been called home to be given an
upgrade - emotions - but the unexpected arrival of his jealous android "brother"
Lore at Soong's hiding place puts Data's upgrade and his creator in jeopardy.
SUDDENLY HUMAN
Finding a Talarian training vessel in deep space, the Enterprise crew discover
that one of the ship's crew is actually a human teenager. Dr. Crusher's
examinations reveal that he has been injured in the past as well - and it's
likely that these came about on purpose. When the boy's Talarian foster father
appears to reclaim him, Picard is left with a choice - either return the boy to
a society whose people may have abused him, or face the possibility of starting
a war.
REMEMBER ME
Dr. Crusher's old friend, Dr. Dalen Quaice, is leaving his former home on a
sStarbase to retire after the recent death of his wife. He mentions his slowly
deteriorating memory, a thought which remains on Dr. Crusher's mind when she
visits engineering to watch Wesley finish a warp field experiment. But when the
Enterprise becomes ready to leave the starbase, Wes hastily finishes his
experiment, but his mother completely disappears. She, however, is on the
Enterprise - so she thinks - and she helplessly watches the entire crew
disappear one by one. She is, in fact, inside a warp bubble, and the real crew
on the real Enterprise must enlist the help of the mysterious alien known as the
Traveler to pull Dr. Crusher back into reality before her warp bubble shrinks
into nothingness.
LEGACY
Rushing into dangerous territory on Turkana III, a planet whose government once
warned that any Federation personnel would die if they visited there again, the
Enterprise is looking for an escape pod containing two men who left a critically
damaged vessel. The pod has landed on Turkana III, requiring an away team to
visit. They find two "cadres" - urban gangs so large they have replaced the
government and now conduct their street fighting on a warlike scale - one of
which is willing to help find the Federation shipwreck survivors. The
Enterprise's liason to the cadre is the younger sister of the late Tasha Yar,
and no one knows whether or not to trust her.
REUNION
The Enterprise is intercepted in deep space by a Klingon battlecruiser occupied
by K'mpec, leader of the High Council of the Klingon Empire. With him is
K'ehleyr, Worf's former lover, who has visited the Enterprise before. This time
she acts as Picard's aide in a role K'mpec has chosen for him - the neutral
arbiter to oversee the handover of the dying K'mpec's powerful position to one
of two contenders: Duras, whose cover-up of his father's actions cost Worf his
honor; or Gowron, a Klingon "outsider" about whom little is known. But sabotage,
including the assassination of K'mpec, begins to point toward evidence of
Romulan involvement...and Worf must deal with the possibility that his son (by
K'ehleyr) may lose his honor if Worf reveals his relationship to him.
FUTURE IMPERFECT
While investigating suspicious energy readings on Alpha Onias III - a planet
that would be ideal for a secret Romulan base - Riker, Geordi and Worf are
overcome by toxic gases. Geordi and Worf, however, are rescued via transporter,
while the Enterprise loses all trace of Riker. Riker awakens in the sick bay of
the Enterprise, told by an older Dr. Crusher that sixteen years have passed
since that event, and that a virus he contracted on the mission to Alpha Onias
III recently became active, causing him to lose all memory back to that event.
He is now the ship's Captain, Data is First Officer, and Picard - now an Admiral
- is completing the final arrangements for the signing of a peace treaty between
the Romulans and the Federation, and Riker has a teenage son as well. But
glaring mistakes soon point out to Riker that this scenario is not, in fact,
happening, and that it's all a nearly perfect simulation. But the question
remains - who's behind it, the Romulans...or someone else?
FINAL MISSION
Picard reveals that Wesley has been accepted into Starfleet Academy. Wes's final
assignment on the Enterprise is to accompany Picard on a trip with an
independent miner, Captain Dirgo, to settle a dispute between mining colonies.
En route, Dirgo's battered shuttle breaks down, forcing them to land on a desert
world - but help is nowhere near because the Enterprise is attempting to move an
abandoned freighter whose highly radioactive contents threaten the Enterprise
and a nearby planet.
THE LOSS
Shortly after counseling crewmember Janet Brooks over the loss of her husband,
Troi begins to experience severe pain, and at the same time, the Enterprise is
suddenly unable to go to warp speed. Data and Geordi determine that they're
caught in a field of steadily moving two dimensional particles that seem to be
alive, while Troi realizes that she's lost her empathic sense. When it is
discovered that the entities are heading toward a black-hole-like cosmic string
and carrying the Enterprise with them to destruction, Picard relies on Troi for
an answer, although she has lost confidence in herself.
DATA'S DAY
Data records his observations of an average day in the Enterprise to be relayed
to Dr. Bruce Maddox, a Federaton cyberneticist who once expressed an interest in
disassembling Data to learn about how the android works, but now is content to
let Data reveal that for himself. But as the day progresses, from the nervous,
soon-to-be-married couple of Chief O'Brien and Keiko to the transport of a
secretive Vulcan ambassador to the Neutral Zone, Data finds out that this isn't
going to be an ordinary day.
THE WOUNDED
Captain Maxwell of the U.S.S. Phoenix has severed contact with Starfleet and the
Phoenix has been raiding the vessels of Cardassians, a race once at war with the
Federation but now peaceful under an uneasy treaty. Picard discovers that
Captain Maxwell believes he has good reason to continue these attacks.
DEVIL'S DUE
The Enterprise arrives at Ventax III to retrieve a Federation anthropological
team, only to discover that the planet is in a state of chaos and the team has
been taken hostage by the Ventaxians, who believe their peaceful way of life is
about to end with the "second coming" of Ardra - the devil. But when Ardra takes
a dangerously personal interest in Picard, he must quickly find some way to
discredit her.
CLUES
The Enterprise is on a routine mission, giving everyone a chance to relax, when
an investigation of an unknown clasM planet sends the Enterprise through a
wormhole that appears without warning and renders everyone but Data unconscious.
But as the rest of the crew investigates what happened, they begin the discover
that someone's keeping secrets from everyone...and that someone happens to be
Data.
FIRST CONTACT
Riker, having undergone facial surgery to look like a Malcorian and beamed
down to Malcor III to coordinate other surgically disguised cultural
observers from Starfleet, is injured in a riot and taken to a hospital,
where his true nature is slowly deduced by Malcorian doctors while Riker
remains out of touch with the Enterprise. Picard and Troi try to find
open-minded individuals among that planet's leaders and scientific minds,
but discover that, like on late 20th century Earth, such people are few and
far between.
GALAXY'S CHILD
Geordi is delighted to welcome Dr. Leah Brahms aboard the Enterprise, having
already gotten to know her - so he thinks - through a friendly holographic
simulation in a crisis situation in the past. But the real Dr. Brahms is nothing
like her holodeck alter-ego. Meanwhile, the Enterprise inadvertantly destroys a
free-floating space creature and helps to deliver its newborn child, but the
child thinks the Enterprise is its mother and attaches itself to the hull to
"nurse" energy from the power reserves - and Geordi and Dr. Brahms are left to
find the solution to this problem...if they can cooperate with each other.
NIGHT TERRORS
The missing starship Brittain is found by the Enterprise, but Riker and an away
team find that the entire crew of the Brittain went berserk and murdered one
another, leaving a single survivor - a Betazoid who can't speak and whose
telepathic "ramblings" to Troi are puzzling. When the Enterprise is immobilized
by a dangerous natural phenomenon, no one suspects that the survivor's riddles
may have some meaning, and members of the crew begin hallucinating slowly edging
toward the same kind of madness that drove the Brittain's crew to kill
themselves.
IDENTITY CRISIS
Starfleet officers who were on an away team five years ago investigating a
mysterious migration of previous explorers to the planet Tarchannen 3 are
beginning to mutate into alien life forms and migrate to the planet themselves.
Among them are Lt. Commander Leitjen, visiting the Enterprise, and Geordi La
Forge. While Dr. Crusher keeps Leitjen in sick bay when her mutation begins,
Geordi's mutation goes unchecked and, more alien than human, he beams to the
surface to join the other members of the away team, who have fully mutated.
THE NTH DEGREE
Shortly after very nervously performing a scene from "Cyrano de Bergerac" with
Dr. Crusher, Lt. Barclay is assigned to accompany Geordi on a close examination,
via shuttle, of an alien probe that has impeded the functioning of a subspace
telescope array. But after being scanned, the probe somehow singles Barclay out
to receive a massive mental "upgrade," doing away with the lieutenant's
legendary reclusiveness and shyness, and replacing those traits of his
personality with knowledge and learning abilities beyond human experience...and
arrogance.
QPID
Picard is readying a speech on the subject of the planet Tagus 3, whose
archaelogical digs are off-limits to outsiders, to be delivered to a group of
distinguished archaeologists, and is surprised to find that Vash, a very fondly
remembered acquaintance from his visit to Risa, is present as well, no doubt to
fulfill her nefarious urge to go treasure-seeking. She and Picard seem to be
able to agree on nothing, which catches the attention of Q, who, to force Picard
to admit that he does indeed love Vash, sends the crew, Vash, and even himself,
into Sherwood Forest. Picard, of course, becomes Robin Hood, his crew become
Robin's merry men, Q becomes Guy of Gisbourne, and Vash, naturally, is the
damsel in distress...a role she doesn't play willingly, or, indeed, correctly!
THE DRUMHEAD
After an apparent sabotage of the Enterprise's warp drive committed by Klingon
exchange officer J'Ddan, Starfleet sends Admiral Nora Satie out of retirement to
investigate the possibility of a Klingon faction cooperating with Romulans. But
Satie goes beyond that, accusing a shy junior crewman of Romulan collaboration
and even accusing Captain Picard of aiding Romulans and the Borg.
HALF A LIFE
Kalon scientist Dr. Timicin has beamed aboard the Enterprise to travel to a star
much like his planet's own sun to conduct tests of a modified photon torpedo
that could reduce the level of solar activity - something that needs to be done
within decades, or Kalon II's sun will explode, eradicating his people. When the
test fails, Timicin continues, but he is due back on Kalon II so he may carry
out the Resolution - a traditional Kalon ceremony in which one ends one's life
by painless suicide at sixty. Lwaxana Troi, also visiting the Enterprise, tries
to convince Timicin to continue living, although his request for asylum from his
people could result in war.
THE HOST
Ambassador Odan is being transported to the Peliar Zel system to attempt
eleventh-hour mediation between civilizations on two moons. One society's new
power source may mean lonterm pollution and deterioration of the other
society's world. Odan intends to settle the dispute, and on the two week trip he
and Dr. Crusher have fallen in love. But when a faction of radicals attacks the
shuttlecraft Odan has insisted upon taking to the surface of one of the moons -
he refuses to use the transporter - Odan is severely injured and is forced to
reveal that he is, in fact, an alien parasite within a humanoid host body. When
Odan's fellow Trills cannot send another host in time to save the parasite's
life, and a countdown to war begins on the two moons, Riker risks his own life
to serve as a temporary host.
THE MIND'S EYE
En route to an artificial intelligence conference on Risa, Geordi, alone in a
shuttlepod, is kidnapped by Romulans, who send a "copy" of him to Risa. Under
the supervision of a female Romulan who remains in shadows at all times, Geordi
is tortured and brainwashed to obey, without question, instructions transmitted
on a certain wavelength to his VISOR. When he returns to the Enterprise - with
"memories" of his trip implanted into his mind - Picard deals with a belligerent
Klingon colony governor who accuses the Federation of assisting a rebel
political faction. In fact, however, there is another Klingon responsible for
this, and he is relaying Romulan instructions to Geordi, who may unwittingly
become an assassin.
IN THEORY
During the Enterprise's investigation of a dark-matter nebula, Lt. Jenna D'Sora,
recently having broken up with a longtime boyfriend, becomes attached to Data,
who at first protests that he has no human feelings, and then attempts to
emulate emotions. In the meantime, the density of the matter in the nebula pulls
off an astonishing disappearing act - making an entire clasM planet fade from
existence. And whatever caused that is in the path of the Enterprise.
