Blood spatter analyst for Miami Metro Police, Dexter Morgan, lives a double life as a vigilante serial killer, taking out criminals who try to avoid the law. Following a code that his adoptive father instilled in him, Dexter methodically plans and carries out his killings while managing his personal life. He must deal with issues such as raising a son, maintaining relationships, and avoiding suspicion from his colleagues, particularly his own sister, Debra Morgan.
