Ancient-Wraith War
Date: 8,100 B.C. to around 8,000 B.C. |
|
The Ancients took one hundred males and one hundred females from various human planets around the galaxy and experimented on them, with Iratus bug DNA, creating the first Wraith. Only ninety-nine of the men and nine of women, survived. Eventually, the Wraith grew in number and organized against the Ancients both for survival and revenge for what was done to them.
As the war dragged on, the Wraith learned to counter Ancient technology and outlast their enemies through sheer numbers. Human worlds were devastated as feeding grounds, and the Ancients found themselves fighting a losing war despite their brilliance.
Ultimately, the Ancients abandoned Pegasus, submerging Atlantis and fleeing to Earth, leaving the Wraith victorious. Their withdrawal reshaped the galaxy, allowing the Wraith to dominate for thousands of years and setting the stage for the events that would follow when Atlantis was rediscovered. |
