Ant-Man

Ant-Man is a legacy super-hero name, primarily associated with the ability to shrink or grow in size as well as control ants telepathically.

Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym, was an American Entomologist, biochemist, roboticist, engineer and physicist. He discovered the Pym Particles, subatomic particles which can increase or decrease the size and mass of objects or living beings. Pym built a suit and for a time, became the original Ant-Man, fighting beside his future wife, Janet Van Dyne, who had taken on the mantle of the Wasp.

Alongside Van Dyne, he became a founding member of the Avengers. He was also able to modify his Pym Particles to allow him to grow in size to become Giant-Man, and later Goliath. After a nervous breakdown he changed identities to Yellowjacket, and then later to the Wasp to honor his deceased ex-wife.

Years later, Scott Lang took the name after he broke into the home of Dr. Pym, and stole the Ant-Man's Suit. He used it to rescue the doctor that could save his daughter’s life. Lang intended to return the suit to its owner and turn himself in, but Pym offered to let him keep it, provided he used it for lawful use.
