Home was destroyed & his family killed by the evil priest Ahk-Ton
Enraged, he forcefully overthrew the Kahndaq government, appointing himself ruler
Shazam de-powered him, turning his body into a withered corpse to
Soul &powers were trapped within a scarab by Shazam, to stop him;
Body & the scarab were buried in his father’s tomb, label as “Khem-Adam” (“Black Adam”)
Tomb was excavated by the Batsons, Theo Adam found the scarab
Theo spoke the name “Shazam”; & became possessed by the soul of Black Adam
Became the archenemy of Shazam’s next champion, Captain Marvel
Eventually worked to redeem himself, becoming the hero he once was
