Selina Kyle was born to Brian and Maria Kyle in the slums of Gotham City. When she was just a girl, mother committed suicide and her father drank himself to death soon after. Selina decided to take her chances on the streets of Gotham, surviving as a petty thief. As she grew older, Selina fashioned herself a costume, inspired by her love of cats, and began operating as a cat burglar named Catwoman.

Armed with a whip, Catwoman spent many years as a criminal and often fought with Batman. She found herself falling in love with Bruce Wayne and Batman. Over time, Catwoman decided to turn her life around and became a crime-fighter, protecting Gotham City, in her own way.
