Demona

Demona was hatched in the year 938. By 971 she had mated with Goliath, they conceived an egg in 987. By 994, she had finally had enough of the constant ingratitude of Princess Katharine, and her human subjects towards the clan, and decided, with the Captain of the Guard, to betray the humans to Hakon and his Vikings. Not trusting the humans, she fled and hid on the beach. She awakened that night, and returned to find her clan destroyed by the Vikings. Horrified and grief-stricken, she hid herself when Goliath returned to the castle and when she returned, found him and the surviving Gargoyles under a sleep sell. A few days later, Demona slashed Gillecomgain across the face, when he caught her steeling food on his farm, unknowingly creating the first hunter.

Demona continued to wander about Scotland, attacking any human who got in her way and stealing food to survive. By 1040, Demona feared she was too old and would soon be unable to lead her clan. The Weird Sisters offered to rejuvenate her if she aligned herself with the human Macbeth. They cast a spell which switched her and Macbeth’s ages but also made them immortal, only able to die if one slew the other. She helped Macbeth save his kingdom and he named her, Demona. Demona was happy for a time but a misunderstanding caused her to betray Macbeth who spent the next century trying to kill her.

In 1994 she convinced David Xanatos to bring Goliath and his clan out of their stone sleep. Demona tried to get Goliath to wage war on the humans but when he refused she attacked the Gargoyles with a bazooka but was stopped by Elisa Maza, whom, she gew to loath. Demona was granted the ability to become human during the day by Puck. Although the transformation was extremely painful, Demona found it useful and created the persona of Dominique Destine to maneuver the human world. She is one of the Manhattan Clan's greatest enemies, and possibly the most dangerous gargoyle in the world. Her only redeeming quality was her love for her daughter, Angela.
