The Hate Ring was one of five Rings of Destruction created by Dr. Blight with one of her inventions: The Molecular Duplicator Machine. This device would analyze any object and then proceed to create an evil opposite. It was the evil counterpart to the Heart Ring, given to Barbara Blight. When combined, the five evil ring’s powers summoned Captain Pollution.

It was activated by saying "Hate" which then gave the user the ability to bring the anger and hatred out of people. The Hate Ring was the fifth ring used in the process of summoning Captain Pollution.

The ring exploded after Captain Pollution's overexposure to the elements of the Earth.
