Klingon Diaspora

The Burn caused matter-antimatter reactors on Klingon homeworld Qo'noS and several other worlds to explode, resulted in millions dead and rendered much of the Klingon Empire uninhabitable. Having lost their homeworld, the once mighty race became an endangered species of refugees who nonetheless refused all help from the United Federation of Planets.
In 3195, the Klingon diaspora reached a crisis point following the loss of a ship of refugees on its way to a refugee camp on Taurus VII. Starfleet Command located Faan Alpha, a potential new Klingon homeworld, in Federation space, but the eight surviving Great Houses refused to accept what they saw as Starfleet charity. As the Klingons would only accept the planet through an act of conquest, Starfleet and Klingon General Obel Wochak staged a no casualties battle in which the Klingons claimed Faan Alpha as the spoils of war and began to colonize their new home. |
