Last Great Time War

Date: Throughout Time

Temporal war fought between the Time Lords and the Daleks "for the sake of all creation". In a linear sense, it lasted for at least 400 years. Fought throughout countless time periods and even alternate timelines, however, it more accurately lasted an eternity as both sides fought across space and time.

At the heart of the War, millions were killed and brought back to life every second, on account of both sides' manipulations. In the final battle alone, the Daleks numbered in the quintillions and fielded a fleet of ten million flying saucers. The Time Lords used over a million Battle TARDISes.

By the end of the War, the Daleks had pushed the Time Lords back to their homeworld of Gallifrey and launched a full-scale assault on the planet. Wanting to end the war, once and for all, the War Doctor stole the Moment and was planning on using it to destroy Gallery and Skaro. When the War Doctor attempted to activate it, the Moment, allowed the Tenth and the Eleventh Doctors to join him. Clara Oswald prosaded the Eleventh Doctor to deactivate the moment and forced the three of them to find a better way.

Together, with help from all previous incarnations and the Twelfth Doctor, the Doctors were able to devise a way to freeze Gallifrey in time, while allowing the Daleks to destroy themselves in the crossfire. Thus, Gallifrey and the Daleks still vanished, and history was preserved, but the Doctor was ultimately able to prevent the genocide of his own people. To the rest of the universe, it appeared that the Time War resulted in the destruction of Gallifrey and ruination of Skaro, seemingly leaving only three Time Lords and a small number of Daleks as survivors.
