- Zordon recruited "five teenagers with attitude," to defend the Earth from Rita Repulsa
- Rita used a sixth Power Coin to transform Tommy into her own evil Green Ranger;
- He nearly destroyed them but was defeated when the rangers broke Rita’s spell;
- Tommy joined them but lost his powers when Rita used the magical green candle;
- He temporarily reassumed the green powers but ultimately lost them for good
- Zordon created a new set of White Ranger powers, which were given to Tommy
- New Zords were created for the rangers when Lord Zedd arrived & joined with Rita
- Jason, Zack & Trini passed their powers on to new Rangers using the Sword of Light
- All six Rangers lost their powers after Rito Revolto damaged their Dino Power Coins
- The Rangers sought out Ninjor & he granted them the Ninja Power Coins
- Kimberly gave up her powers to Katherine Hillard, another reformed minion of Rita's
- Zedd & Rita destroyed the coins, leaving the Rangers without their Ninja powers
- Years later, Billy was able to recreate all seven Dino coins and gave them to the Rangers
