Project Quantum Leap

Project Quantum Leap was a largely underground complex in the Desert Mountains of Stallion's Gate, New Mexico.

When Dr. Samuel Beckett, theorized that one could travel trough time, within their own life time, he created the technology to prove his theory. He assembled a team of experts, and with the help of his best friend, Admiral Albert “Al” Calavicci, got government funding for his project.

The complex houses, the Quantum Accelerator, a nuclear-powered device that acts as the project's time machine, The Imaging Chamber, Sam's means of communication with the project during his travels and the Waiting Room, where Project Quantum Leap keeps the people Sam leaps into. At the center of the project is the control room, were a consol that controls everything is located. Ziggy, a sentient supercomputer, is also located in the control room.

To prove his theory to government sponsors who were about to cut funding for the project, Sam tested the experiment on himself and found himself stuck in the past. For the next four years, Sam would continue to travel back and forth through time in a continuing effort to leap home (to his proper time and identity), swapping identities with various people, and putting things right that once went wrong.

Project Quantum Leap was shut down in the 90s, leaving Doctor Becket, trapped in time. It was restarted again thirty years later, with a new team, under the leadership of Herbert "Magic" Williams. This time, Dr, Ben Song used the Accelerator and got stuck in the past. The Project was once again shut down, one year later.
