Purple Wedding

Date: 300 AC

With House Lannister standing triumphant over its enemies after the Battle of the Blackwater and the Red Wedding, Joffrey was to cement his family's victory by marrying Margaery Tyrell, securing the support of the powerful House Tyrell. The marriage ceremony was conducted by the High Septon at the Great Sept of Baelor.

After the ceremony, King Joffrey made a speech about the importance of the Royal Wedding and the end of the War of the Five Kings, only to introduce a mock play of "his" victory over his rivals clams to the Iron Throne. Joffrey then mocked his uncle, Tyrion and emptied his wine goblet onto his head. He then declared that he was thirsty and demanded that Tyrion bring him more wine. His uncle obliged and handed the King a cup of wine.

After taking a gulp, Joffrey started coughing, which got more violent after a second gulp. Moments later, his throat started to swell and close, as Joffrey started to choke. Lurching forward, Joffrey fell to the ground, desperately gasping for breath and convulsing violently. Jaime and Cersei rushed to his side to aid him, but he continued to gag, as blood ran out of his nose and his face turned grotesquely purple. The whites of his eyes turned red and began to bleed, as he took his last breath then died.
