Origin:
- A beautiful panther enjoyed mocking the other animals in the jungle
- When she mocked Anansi, he turned her into a human;
- He would only turn her back if she built the great city of Kara Digi for him
- She married the Oba of the Houka tribe, by whom she had many children
- Once the city was built, Anansi turned her back into a panther
- However, the Panther Queen now found that she missed her children
- She begged Anansi to turn them into panthers as well,
- He agreed to let her have one, she chose her eldest son
- This displeased Anansi, who had wished to keep the youth to himself;
- He lied to her son, & sent him out to hunt the Panther Queen
- But when he saw her, he realized the truth about her motives
- He willingly agreed to become a panther, & Anansi changed him into one

- Fara Maku fell in love with Tea Gora, She planned to leave so he sought Anansi
- Maku made a pact with him, asking the spider to turn him into a werepanther,
- So that he could do the same for Tea, and vowing in return to hunt for him
- When she learned what he had done, she hunted him down for revenge,
- In the city of Kara Digi, Fara Maku learned how selfish his behavior had been
- After defeating Anansi, he realized that he must atone for his earlier acts
- He & Tea, still werepanthers, now serve as protector-figures in Nigeria
