Wraith-Tau'ri War

When the Atlantis expedition first arrived in the Pegasus galaxy, they soon encountered the Wraith on the planet Athos. A Tau’ri rescue mission revealed Earth’s existence to the Wraith, prompting them to mobilize against Atlantis and target Earth as a new feeding ground. The Wraith launched several major offensives, including the Siege of Atlantis, but Tau’ri reinforcements, advanced weapons, and recovered Ancient technology allowed the city to survive.
As the war progressed, the Tau’ri shifted from defense to coordinated strikes against hive ships, cloning facilities, and key Wraith leadership. Temporary alliances formed when both sides faced common enemies, while Tau’ri scientific efforts produced retroviruses and gene therapies intended to weaken or alter Wraith feeding. The conflict reached a peak when a Zero Point Module powered super-hive attacked Earth, forcing Atlantis to return to the Milky Way to help destroy it.
Continued Wraith infighting, Tau’ri military pressure, and the development of non-lethal feeding methods eventually pushed both sides toward negotiation. A territorial treaty divided the Pegasus Galaxy between human and Wraith controlled regions, ending large scale warfare, though tensions and isolated conflicts continued. |
